Planning a Respectful Outdoor Day

A good plan protects your enjoyment, other people’s comfort and the place itself.

Research the location

Use current, reputable information. Confirm access, landowner conditions, bylaws, parking, tides and whether an organised event is taking place. A quiet-looking map is not evidence that a place is suitable.

Read the day

Conditions change. If families, workers, livestock, events or heavy footfall make the situation inappropriate, dress and choose another spot. Courtesy is more important than completing a plan.

Leave well

Take every item home, avoid damaging vegetation, keep clear of wildlife and leave gates exactly as you found them.
